General Assemby Conference “BUILT TO STAND: A FIRM FOUNDATION IN SHAKY TIMES”

Theme “BUILT TO STAND: A FIRM FOUNDATION IN SHAKY TIMES” for our 107th Annual General Assembly held at The General Assembly Institute in Tyler Texas
November 14 – 17, 2012

Luke 6:48 He acheter du cialis en ligne is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon
that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (KJV)

To all Bishops, Overseers, Elders, Eldresses, Evangelists, Missionaries, Trustees, Members and Friends:

Dear Members,
I pray this message finds you all doing well in your personal, physical, and spiritual arenas.  As we stand on the verge of another Annual Assembly, I want to sequester a few lines to encourage
you as you diligently and dutifully carry out the work of our Lord. Let’s consider briefly our theme. This passage in Luke’s Gospel informs us we have all constructed spiritual houses.
These houses, depending upon the depth of the foundation and the material of which they are constructed, will either stand firm or fall flat in a storm. In the parable, one man devoted great time
and effort to lay proper foundations for his life. The other man took the easy path to life-building. He built his house hastily and carelessly. How strong is your house? How deep have you dug?
How careful are you building? I remind you, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

These are undoubtedly shaky times. The church is being constantly attacked from all directions. Marriage has been redefined, Juvenile Delinquency is running rampart, churches are splitting like atoms,
and Satan is busy doing his best to tear down the foundation that for so long has stood firm. We must not be shaken because we are founded upon Jesus, our bedrock. I encourage you to stand and stand firm.
Remember Paul’s words in Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness
in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. To Church of the Living God members in every city,
I encourage you to stand and when you have done all you can physically do, STAND! God built you to stand.  We know this is true because according to 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit
of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Your servant,

Bishop C. C. Berry, Jr.
Presiding Bishop
